George W. Hanson is a well-known author, and educationist from Milwaukee.

Apart from this book, Hanson has written few other engineering books, and they include Fundamental Transmitting Properties of Carbon Nanotube Antennas, Operator Theory For Electromagnetics : An Introduction, Infrared and Optical Properties of Carbon Nanotube Dipole Antennas and Nonlocal Continuum Field Theories.

Hanson completed his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University, followed by an M.S in the same field, from Southern Methodist University. He later went on to obtain a doctoral degree from Michigan State University, studying Electrical Engineering. Hanson currently holds the position of the Professor Chair at the University Of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, in the Department Of Electrical Engineering And Computer Science. His main areas of research interest lie in integrated transmission lines, antennas, and waveguides, and mathematical techniques in electromagnetics.
