About Bimal Jalan

Bimal Jalan is an Indian writer and a former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. He was also a nominated member of the Upper House of India's Parliament, the Rajya Sabha between 2003 and 2009.

A graduate of Presidency College, Calcutta, Jalan has also served as the Chief Economic Advisor, Banking Secretary and Finance Secretary, Ministry of Finance. His other books include The Indian Economy: Problems and Prospects, India's Economic Crisis: The Way Ahead and India's Economic Policy: Preparing for the Twenty-first Century.
