Dr. Archana Shukla is faculty at the Department of Psychology, and Coordinator at the Institute of Women’s Studies, University of Lucknow. An academically bright scholar, she has been a UGC research fellow in the Department of Psychology, University of Lucknow with twenty years of teaching experience. She has to her credit more than fifty-five research papers in national and international journals and fifteen that have appeared in the press. Dr. Shukla has published fifteen chapters in books with national and international publishers and eight in the press. She has delivered more than fifty lectures on different topics like Gender Sensitisation, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Adolescent Issues, Sufism, Sexual Harassment, Personality Development, Anti-Drugs Awareness, Stress Management, Counselling skills, and Parenting in organisations like 112 UP Police; BSF; Indian Army, Lucknow Head Quarters; NIPCCD; Lucknow Vidhan Sabha, RPF, Narcotics Bureau; Women Power Line (1090); the Rape Cell; Doordarshan, ETV, Lovely Professional University, SRSMU, and Muthoot Finance to name a few. She has extensive experience in research and eight PhDs were awarded under her supervision. The basic idea of research is to attain knowledge, reach out to the masses, and raise awareness among people towards gender sensitisation, mental health issues, and bring marginalised communities into the mainstream. She believes in doing path-breaking research on the deviant population. Under her supervision, the Institute of Women’s Studies is running a PG Diploma course in Garbh Sanskar, an initiative by the Honourable Chancellor, Ananadiben Patel, Governor of Uttar Pradesh, 2020. The course focuses on the Vedic importance of Garbh Sanskar, the role of nutrition, diet, music in pregnancy. To strengthen the eternal bond between mother and child also to make this journey stress free through yoga, family therapy, couple therapy, communication skills, meditation, mindfulness. She is the Program Coordinator of Psychological Support and Counselling and was instrumental in setting up an MOU between the University of Lucknow and 112 UP Police for online counselling of the police personnel in Uttar Pradesh. She has successfully organised a seven-day international web talk show on Gender Stereotypes: A Lived Reality; A webinar on Garbh Sanskar: Celebrating Life; and convened the National Webinar on Happiness: Different Strokes on the Canvas of COVID-19.
