Narayani Ganesh is the daughter of Gemini Ganesan and T.R. Alamelu (Bobji). She grew up in Chennai, going to school at Church Park, Presentation Convent, and to college at Stella Maris and Ethiraj. An intrepid traveler, she's never too tired to lace up her shoes and take off, whether on a rickety bus to a pilgrimage centre, on a cruise liner to the Antarctic, or hiking on a rainforest trail that leads to nowhere. A talking point at her home is a collection of stones from around the world. She has an M.A. in Economics from the University of Madras. Her special interests include the environment, philosophy and heritage. She has received formal training in Carnatic and western classical music.
