  • Description

The Google Guys is an account of the founders of the internet giant Google. It is an insightful read about the history and the overwhelming growth of the company, the exceptional world of the internet, and the immense possibilities it has in store.

    Summary of the Book

While the Google Search Engine is an omniscient entity at the present time, there are two geniuses behind Google - Larry Page and Sergey Brin. This book talks about the two Founders who created the phenomenon that Google is today. The Google Guys: Inside The Brilliant Minds of Google Founders Larry page And Sergey Brin is full of anecdotes that describe how Page and Brin are as individuals, and how they complement each other perfectly in their outlook on work and life in general. Richard L. Brandt defines the individualities of Page and Brin. While Page handles strategizing and is realistic in his approach, Brin is the main technologist who is idealistic in his approach. The book also talks about Eric Schmidt, an exceptionally composed man, who joined Google in 2001 and became the company’s CEO just after five months. Schmidt’s words on the Founders’ vision, genius, synchrony and focus, serves as a fascinating and reliable source of information about Page and Brin. This compelling narrative has also been complemented with interviews of those who have worked in Google and with its founders, the top-level executives, and the founders themselves. The book sheds light on the controversies surrounding Google and clears several misconceptions as well. It is a must read for all the ardent fans of Google, budding entrepreneurs, and those who wish to know more about the founders and their brainchild.

More like a paid article in a local newspaper

Just like the title above suggests, this book is hardly anything more than an article someone got published in a local newspaper after paying up the scribe who had no money and no ethics.

I am no expert book critic but have read my own share and this was a crass and blatant example of making God's out of guys, although, believe me, I am a big follower of the google founders, just that this book wasn't their wisest decision if they ever agreed to let it get to print.

If you really want to und...

    AmazinG Book

I shows how Google got it's success , but has presented it vaguely hence the readers should read the book cautiously in order to get the founders "essence". The book has been well written .

    A Good Read

It may not give you new information about Google or its founders, which is not yet written about or published in youtube google documentary videos. But the author has shown Google from the founder's perspective. After reading this book, you will be able to appreciate Larry and Sergey's approach to finding solutions.

Now I feel like I know them personally.
