The Horrorland is a scary theme park. The books have a running storyline, a plot that is spread over all the books in the series.

Each book in the series also has its own independent storyline, but ultimately, the stories all tie in with the main plot. HorrorLand is becoming a land of horror in more than just name. A cast of characters who are all unspeakably evil are beginning to assemble there.

While the evil forces are gathering in HorrorLand, many ordinary children are also being lured there under various pretexts. Each new story adds more characters to the plot, and things are getting crowded in HorrorLand.

In Goosebumps Horrorland The Wizard Of Ooze, the new villain who is added to the milieu is the comic book villain Ooze, a mutant creature composed of oil sludge.

Marco Gonzalez is visiting HorrorLand with his friend Gabriella Smith. Both of them are fans of the Ooze comics. They enter the Chiller House gift shop, which is run by a man named Jonathan Chiller. Marco is delighted to see a rare edition of an Ooze comic book and buys it.

Marco is happy with his new acquisition, but he is not the only one who liked the book. There are other characters looking for the book, for it holds a powerful secret.

Marco mentions his purchase at a comic book convention, and soon, he gets a lot of unwanted attention from unsavoury characters. One of them is a man dressed in an Ooze costume. The strange thing about him is, he really leaves traces of oil sludge wherever he goes. And, he is after Marco.

R.L. Stine was born in Columbus Ohio in 1943. He has a B.A. degree in English from the Ohio State University. While at the University, he was the editor of The Sundial, the OSU humor magazine. He initially wrote humor books for kids. His first horror story was Blind Date, published in 1986. He then started a series of horror books called Fear Street. He later launched the Goosebumps series which became hugely popular.
