Gulamgiri  (Paperback, Hindi, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule)

Jyotirao Govindrao Phule, also known as Mahatma Jotirao Phule, was an Indian social activist, scientist, anti-caste social reformer, and writer who lived from 11 April 1827 until 28 November 1890. The work he performed encompassed numerous fields, including the eradication of untouchability and the caste system, as well as educating women and oppressed castes. He and his wife, Savitribai Phule, were forerunners in India when it came to women's education. In 1848, Phule established his first girls-only school in Pune in Tatyasaheb Bhide's house, also known as Bhide Wada. In order to secure equal rights for members of lower castes, he founded the Satyashodhak Samaj (Society of Truth Seekers) together with his adherents. This organisation, which aimed to elevate the oppressed masses, welcomed members from all religions and castes. In Maharashtra, Phule is considered a key player in the social reform movement.
