About the Author

Gulzar is one of India�s leading poets and has published a number of poetry anthologies and collections of short stories. He is regarded as one of India�s finest writers for children. He is also a prominent lyricist and film-maker. His films and songs have won numerous awards, including an Oscar and a Grammy. Gulzar received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2002 and the Padma Bhushan in 2004. He lives and works in Mumbai.
