This is the story of Living Smile Vidya, a transgender who later underwent a surgery to become a woman, and her continuous struggle with society.

Summary of the Book

Imagine having to suffocate and live in a body that you cannot identify with. This is what Vidya, the protagonist of this story and the author, had to go through. In this story, she tells us how she fought for and declared her identity. She suffered for a long time as a transgender. She was disowned by her family, wore a woman’s clothes, and even begged on the streets. Soon, she went through a surgery that would transform her to a woman, her real identity. However, even after this, she faces a lot of emotional and physical harassment. This is a story of true courage and the importance of identity.
