Summary Of The Book

I’m Not A Supermouse is the 43rd title in the Geronimo Stilton series which features the escapades of a talking rodent called Geronimo Stilton who works as a journalist and editor for The Rodent’s Gazette. He lives in New Mouse City on Mouse island. Like the other books in the series, this title is also filled with colourful illustrations and is aimed at readers between the ages of six and twelve.

In this book, Geronimo’s friend Bruce Hyena is of the opinion that Geronimo needs to learn how to handle harsh realities of life and keep calm in adverse conditions. So, he puts him through a series of extreme situations with the intention of toughening him up.

What follows for Geronimo is a spate of encounters with drastic weather conditions, scary animals, and such. When a natural calamity strikes Mouse Island, Geronimo’s new life skills acquired through Bruce’s crazy training are put to test, forcing him to prove his worth as the real Supermouse.

Geronimo’s funny and fun-filled adventures coupled with the unique layout of the book keep the young readers fascinated.

The book was published in 2010 by Scholastic Books. The first book in the series was published in 2000. Since then, more than 65 million copies of the books have been sold worldwide, 20 million of them in Italy alone. The books have been translated into about 35 languages.

About Elisabetta Dami

While the books in the series credit the titular character of Geronimo Stilton as the author of the series, Elisabetta Dami is the original creator of the series. She is a children’s fiction writer from Italy.

Some of her books from the Geronimo Stilton series include Rumble In The Jungle, This Hotel Is Haunted, A Cheese-Colored Camper, The Peculiar Pumpkin Thief, and The Mummy With No Name.

Dami was born in 1965 in Milan. She joined the family’s publishing house as a proofreader, and began to write stories at the age of nineteen. She has led an active and adventurous life during which she has trekked in Nepal, done parachute jumps, scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, learned to fly, and run a 75-mile marathon in the Sahara. Dami volunteers to help sick, abandoned, and orphaned children on a regular basis.
