This book explores the question of how to paint a realistic picture of something that doesn't exist. It is intended not only for artists interested in fantasy and science fiction, but also for anyone who wants to recreate history, visualize extinct wildlife, or simply tell a story with a picture.

Inspiring and informative
Similar to 'Color and Light' this one is also a great book filled with lot of information and more beautiful artworks. All points are made with clear examples and are easy to understand. This one is more about how to go about (thought process) creating an imaginative piece of art then the tools of trade (practical part of it). Though if you have to chose between the two I would suggest 'Color and Light'.
