For truth in autobiography, it is mainly centered on Mahatma Gandhi’s “My Experiments with Truth” and a comparison of the same with the autobiography of another famous humanitarian Albert Schweitzer. Then it is the turn of autobiography of politicians. Then there is a works of members in the Civil Service. Thereafter the book discusses the memoirs of a few Military Men and then two famous Journalist. Women autobiographers are discussed in two chapters, one a general one and the other relating to controversial Poets Kamala Das and Amrita Pritam. Thereafter the book discusses the autobiographies of some holy man. The chapter is devoted to the accounts of disabled people and disadvantaged ones. There is a general discussion on sex in Indian autobiography and of childhood accounts. The book end with a discussion on published diaries and future trend in Indian autobiography.

Mohinder Singh is a former IAS Officer, retired as Secretary to the Government of India. He has published around fifteen hundred articles on transport, education, health and food in newspapers and magainzes of repute. Also, he has authored several books, including Crisis in Road Transport, Health & Food, Women and Child and To Be Happily Married. Four novels have been published, A Sikh Boy, Some Win Some Lose, The Twilight Years and If This Be Love. He is presently engaged in writing short stories. He lives in New Delhi with his wife.
