The Indomitable Spirit is a book written by the former President of India, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The book is a representation of the ideological thoughts of the President, which has also been interpreted in his speeches and communication. The book is an attempt in bringing out the true persona of Abdul Kalam. The book commences with a paragraph from his address on the eve of the 57th Indian Republic Day and concludes with lines from the speech by Sir C.V. Raman. The book has a total of 14 chapters, commencing with life inspirations and ending with attributes relating to creative leadership. The chapters in between reveal about the teachers, educational mission, creative and innovative aspects, art and literature, abiding values, science and spirituality, tomorrow’s citizens, women empowerment, ways of developing a knowledge society, building a developed India, and enlightened citizenship. 

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is a renowned Indian scientist and was the President of India from July 2002 to July 2007. He was born on October 15, 1931, in Rameswaram. He is an Aerospace Engineer from MIT, Chennai. He began his career as a scientist in the D.R.D.O. He was the Chief Scientific Advisor to the Prime Minister in July 1992. He played a vital role in the Pokhran-II Nuclear Tests in May 1998 and was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 2002.
