Courant is among the finest authors in mathematics. Like his other works, this one is also a master class. But, it is not meant for students taking a general course in calculus. The book is demanding on rigor and often takes the trouble of going into areas many modern authors would not even bother to. On their part, Courant and John do try and make an effort to help you learn. Their language is quite simple and flowing.
The book is well organized and detailed. It starts off with a refresher ...
Yes. Its a great book to study calculus. But I would not pay anything more than Rs 400 for it. If you get an exciting offer then go for it. I bought it for Rs 375 only. And I am very satisfied.
Other good books for calculs are by autors - 1)Piskunov. 2)Stewart. 3)Thomas Finney.
