RGB LED (Common Anode) makes some beautiful colors, this 10mm tri-color LED with separate red, green and blue LED chips inside! They make a nice indicator, and are fun to color-swirl. We like RGB LEDs because they color mix inside instead of appearing as 3 distinct LEDs. These RGB LEDs are Common Anode type which means you connect one pin to 5V and then tie the other three legs to the ground through a resistor. Most of the people use CA( common anode) more than CC(common cathode) because multi-LED driver chips are often designed exclusively for Common Anode and can’t be used with Common-Cathode. These RGB LEDs have four pins: one for each color and a common anode. Use this one LED for three status indicators or pulse width modulation all three and get mixed colours! These LEDs are diffused; so they’ll appear dimmer but have a wider viewing angle.
