Depression is the most common mental disorder in India with 45.7 million people suffering from it. The highest prevalence of depressive disorders have been observed in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Goa, and Telangana in the high cocio-demographic Index (SDI) state group; Andhra Pradesh in the middle SDI state group; and Odisha in the low SDI state group. A high prevalence of depressive disorders were seen in females (3.9 per cent) than males (2.7 per cent). Depression is a common mental disorder with over 280 million people of all ages, an estimated 3.8 per cent of the population suffering from it globally, as per the World Health Organization (WHO). It is expected that in the next ten years, depression will put more burden on nations than any other disease, as per World Bank. Depression is the measure reason of sudden and unexpected suicides these days caused due to mental or physical traumas, poverty, high stress, societal restrictions, future plannings and so on which are quite unending. “It’s Not An End” is an attempt by the team of 20 writers with compiler, Gaytri Manchanda through UPLIFT FM (associated with Serving You Publication) to raise their voice for the people who are depressed and demotivated.The book mainly reflects that a dark night always ends up with a bright day ahead and hence, dull times always end up with a bright one and it’s never an end to take such a step which can ruin the entire life.
