When your familial legacy and intrinsic means of a living is stripped from you, what would you resort to to survive? One of the most beautiful and hard-hitting films to have been created by 9-time National Film Award-winner Jahnu Barua, It's a Long Way to the Sea is an Assamese drama film that stars Bishnu Kharghoria, Kashmiri Saikia Baruah, Arun Nath and Sushanta Baruah. This movie revolves around a boatman named Powal who stays in a village that is situated along the bank of the river Dihing. Powal lives out his life by ferrying people across the width of the river which has been the source of livelihood in his family for three generations. Life seems to be sailing smoothly until he hears news about a bridge that is soon to be built over the river.
