About Jawaharlal Nehru

Jawaharlal Nehru was an Indian politician and freedom fighter. He was the first Prime Minister of India and a leader of the Indian Independence Movement alongside Mahatma Gandhi.

Nehru studied at Trinity College, Cambridge. A staunch representative of freedom, Nehru served several prison terms and was constantly in and out of prisons. He spent his time in prison writing, largely to his young daughter Indira Priyadarshini, the future Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. His other works include Glimpses of World History and The Discovery of India.
