Author Info | - Amit Kumar Jain, a seasoned author, columnist and civil servant with over 23 years of experience
in public service, currently serves as the Director of Operations and Services at the Delhi Metro Rail
Corporation (DMRC). He is known for spearheading the digital transformation within the DMRC,
which is similar to his successful endeavours in digitalizing the freight business of Indian Railways.
Dr Jain’s expertise extends globally, having contributed to digital transformation strategies for entities
like Iranian Railways in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission
for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). He is also an experienced trainer of digital and traditional
leadership and serves as visiting faculty to teach leadership at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National
Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institutes of
Management (IIM), Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management (IRITM), National Academy
of Indian Railways (NAIR) and other institutions. He holds a PhD from the School of Planning and
Architecture (SPA), Delhi, an MTech from IIT Delhi and a BE from IIT Roorkee. His leadership
credentials include successfully handling the challenges and opportunities of the AI era, a theme
he explores in his books.
Surbhi Jain, an accomplished author, columnist and civil servant, is currently the Joint Secretary in
the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. She completed her postgraduation from
the Delhi School of Economics and graduation from Lady Shri Ram College. She has diverse work
experience across industry, commerce, agriculture and school education. She has been involved in
promoting the digital management of data in India’s education system. Notably, she contributed
to designing economic policies that promote digitalization and the use of technology in the fields
she worked in. Ms Jain’s extensive writings reflect her adeptness at addressing digital leadership
challenges and opportunities.
