Installation and Care The Basics Hardware Edison Light Bulbs are designed to perform at constant voltage, and a correct attachment to the socket is mandatory. Proper installation of the Basics Hardware Edison Light Bulb is required to assure product performance. Do not operate the light fixture with the light bulb loosely installed, as the inadequate electrical contact may cause the excessive temperature inside the bulb, leading to breakage and/or failure. Power surges may lead to filament burnout, and may shorten the lifespan of your product. If you live in an area that experiences high variations in power supply, please connect the light fixture to a surge protection device (SPD). Extreme temperature changes may cause the bulb to break. Turn off the light fixture before replacing bulb. Never touch the bulb while it is hot, or with wet hands.
