Base plate is good but lego material is bit lighter than smaller plates. Also the base plate cannot be locked with smaller plates at the bottom as groves are different from that of smaller base plates.

Terrific purchase
Plate is really nice. You will feel that it's not that sturdy but that's for a reason. If it's sturdy, it will be difficult to take the bricks out. My kid is happy playing with this one.
