Published in the year 2011, Life Is What You Make It is a highly engrossing book that instills in its readers a passion for life, by urging them to choosing a profession they desire.

    Summary Of The Book

Life Is What You Make It was authored by Peter Buffett, the son of billionaire investor Warren Buffett. While most people think that Peter had everything going smooth for him throughout his life, the reality was far from this statement. Through the course of this book, the author begins to throw light on choosing the right path towards a better life, which means that people have to choose between a resistance free path or one where their inner desires will be fulfilled. Buffett notes that his parents only gave him a philosophy as an inheritance, which was ‘Forge your own path in life’. This motivated him to pursue the field of his liking.

Through the course of Life Is What You Make It, Buffett begins to talk about the current trend in society of choosing a profession that yields only monetary benefits, but no inner satisfaction. He explains that individuals should focus more on the work that they are doing, rather than the reward, aiming for a greater sense of fulfillment.

Buffett places a key in the hands of his readers, which is “Life is random, neither fair nor unfair”, to help them understand the events in their life. This powerful saying by the author makes it easy for readers to value every human being and not look down on individuals. This book deals with the fact that life doesn’t follow a straight line in most cases and is accompanied by numerous failures of different levels.

Life Is What You Make It is ideal for individuals who need to make a fresh start to their life by overcoming their failures and following a profession they really desire.
