Summary Of The Book

Nikhil Mahajan’s second novel, As Long As I Love You... I Will Let You Hurt Me, is about the romantic entanglements of its protagonist, Manav. The main characters in the story are Manav, Diva, Meha, Gauri, Kabir, and Karan.

Manav is in love with a girl called Meha and spends a considerable amount of time wooing her. Just as she begins to reciprocate his feelings, Manav has a change of heart. He falls in love with Diva, who is still pining for her ex-boyfriend Kabir.

Manav manages to get Diva to fall in love with him. But just when their relationship is blossoming, Kabir makes a comeback, and Diva ditches Manav. A heartbroken Manav has a physical relationship with his teacher and then decides that he is better off with Gauri, a girl who has had a crush on him for long. But when he proposes to the ecstatic Gauri, Diva walks back into his life.

The later part of the book focuses on how Manav extricates himself from this tangled web of relationships.

Nikhil Mahajan is a physiotherapist-turned-author. He’s one among the current crop of young writers in India.

Mahajan writes love stories that feature urban characters and complicated relationships. 

Born in Udhampur, Nikhil Mahajan completed his graduation and post-graduation in physiotherapy from Jammu College of Physiotherapy in Jammu and Maharishi Markandeshwar University in Ambala, respectively. He has always had a passion for writing, and his personal dairy, which he regularly maintained, formed the basis for his first book.
