  • Description

A heart touching story, Love You Forever gently reaffirms the love of a parent for her child. The children’s book tells the story of a mother whose love never wavers throughout her son’s life.

    Summary Of The Book

Love You Forever begins with a scene in which a young mother is pictured carrying her sleeping baby as she gently sings to him a song about how she will love him forever and how he would always be her baby. The little boy grows up and soon turns into a restless two year old but the mother’s love remains the same and she continues to sing the same song even when he grows into a messy nine year old and then into a raucous teenager.

A mother’s love never changes and in her eyes her child always remains a baby no matter how old he or she may have grown. The same happens in the story when the persistent mother continues to treat her grown up son like her little baby. Even after her son has left home, she drives across the town with a ladder strapped to her car roof, and climbs through her son’s window. She still sings him the same song and rocks her sleeping son like she used to do when he was little.

The touching story takes a twist when the mother inevitably gets too old and sick to hold her son anymore. Now the roles are reversed and it’s the son’s turn to hold his mother and rock her to sleep. Love You Forever is a beautiful portrayal of caring parenthood, and a moving tale of life and death. The book illustrates how with time the roles of a child and the parent get blurry. The story also reminds us that no matter how grown up we may be, we are still our parent’s children, and we are never too old to be loved by our parents.

Love You Forever is a classic children’s story book with an extraordinary story that is written in a simple and easy to read language. The book’s pages are illustrated by Sheila McGraw’s humorous and colorful pastels. Since it was published, the book sold in excess of 15 million copies and the story has touched the hearts of millions of readers.

    Endless love!!!

We like this book on multiple counts
    a) Talks about endless love between parent and child and very beautifully
    b) shows the human lifecycle
    c) an opportunity to sing

The book itself is a story of a mother's love and dedication for her son and very poignantly told, how the child grows and things change but love remains the same. Vey emotional and touching, good read for parents and children both. Must buy!!

I think I love this book more than my son

It's been over a year now and I still well up every time I read this book to my son!
It was only recently that I read about the origins of this story and realised just ow much its a book for all ages. On further Googling - I found I was pretty much singing the song like the author himself! A classic for keeps.
