Set in a war-torn Sri Lanka during the 90s, the plot of Madras Cafe follows an Indian intelligence agent who must covertly infiltrate a resolute rebel group and break them. Along his quest, he constantly runs into an international journalist who is attempting to uncover the truth behind the civil war that rages on the coastal island ceaselessly. As the agent and the journalist dig deeper, they begin to discover a conspiracy that will shake nations.
