Arthur Anthony Macdonell (1854–1930), FBA, was a prominent Sanskrit scholar born in British India. Educated at Göttingen and Oxford, he held prestigious academic positions, contributed to Sanskrit literature, and authored works on Vedic grammar and mythology.
