This book is on the sufferings of Indian women during and mainly after 1947, partition of India. Many books on this subject have been written. Details of atrocities, women faced during and after partition have been highlighted by many writers so far, but nobody has bothered to write that how the displaced women fought the system, the society and reestablished themselves in the society with dignity. No one has explained as to how the displaced women removed the tag of REFUGEE (sharnarthy) and again stood on their feet with dignity. All young girls face the cruel sexual assault at the hands of maurauders who are winning the war in the area. This happened with these women, when looters invaded their area and forced them to migrate to India. During partition/migration many women got separated from their families/parents/in laws/husbands, they were assaulted and misused and pushed into the Indian territory. This book traces the history of such women after their migration to India. It highlights how these women, after suffering badly, fought back and made their life successful. It also explains the action of society which accepted them and helped them to live life with dignity.
