    Joseph Stiglitz is an American economist and an academician. He is a professor at the Columbia University.

    Stiglitz was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences and the John Bates Clark Medal. He has also served as a former Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of the World Bank. Among his other books are The Price of Inequality, Freefall and The Three Trillion Dollar War.
