  • Description
Most of Jim Corbett's books contain collections of stories that recount adventures tracking and shooting man-eaters in the Indian Himalaya. This volume, however, consists of a single story, often considered the most exciting of all Corbett's jungle tales. He gives a carefully-detailed account of a notorious leopard that terrorized life in the hills of the colonial United Provinces.

The most thrilling of all hunting expeditions by Jim Corbett

The book is one of its kind. Jim Corbett describes 'the leopard of Rudraprayag' having record of 125 human kills in 8 long years. We also see that unlike man-eating tigers this leopard is very intelligent, and doesn't give up easily. Even many-a-times Jim Corbett has been followed by it.
Those who want to enjoy the thrill of hunting an animal having quite good level of intelligence must buy it and read it. I bet u would read it continiously untill you finish it...or u r hungry or tired :p

WARNING! you can't keep the book aside once you start reading.

Ever since I read Jim Corbett's Man Eaters of Kumaon I became a fan of him. I had heard about man eater of Rudraprayag long ago; but didn't have a chance to read one. Thanks to Flipkart, I got it.
Once I started reading the book, I never felt like keeping it aside and do any other work. It makes you turn the pages over and over!
Jim's methods of analyzing the man eater's movements are as usual a treat. His methods of hunting are hair rising. He explains in beautiful words what the word TERROR...

    Old is Gold

In my childhood, I read the stories of Jim Corbett. This book has rewind my childhood memory. Thanks to flipkart for selling these type of books (story-wise) along with the entire "Omonibus". It would have been more better if the same books in regional language (like Bengali) will be available if future. Overall its a great experience of purchasing this book from Flipkart.

    Thrilling

I ordered this book from Flipkart, and received it within 2 days, which was pretty good service.
And talking about the book, it was an amazing read! Primarily a book describing Corbett's personal experiences when he had been summoned to kill a leopard terrorizing the village folk of the Gharwals, India, it proved to be amazingly intriguing and informative at the same time!

a must read for those who love to feel a rush of their adrenaline!

    Amazing story

I read this book when I was in 7th standard in Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand. And I became a fan of Jim Corbett. Even at that time, the simplicity with which he narrates the whole incident was remarkable. This book, I am now reading after 15 years. And still fascinates me in the same manner. I finished it in my office in one day â?? hard to put down when once you start reading.

The description of the forests and wilderness in India at that time and such a sharp memory is amazing. A 5/ 5 for a...

    Absolute Thriller

A land infested by a man-eater---nothing could be worse than that. And to kill it, is even more dangerous.

But for someone like Jim Corbett, it is a piece of cake. And he narrates his thrilling experience in a language understood by all.

The story never makes you feel bored anywhere. Instead, it urges you to move on, and sometimes, to finish it in one single day. That's "Jim Corbett, THE AUTHOR" for you.

    Great Read

Once you pick this book, you wont stir before finishing it... so gripping is the narration that i finished reading it just a single day.

Though sometimes the author gets carried away in his description explaining the geography and of the region that the imagination takes a while to conjure up the terrain or the exact scene, as it must have happened.

    None-the-less, loved reading it.
