Manipulative Physiotherapy aims to provide information about manipulative physiotherapy, also known as manual therapy or neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy to treat musculoskeletal conditions (such as arthritis, sports injuries or back pain) and neurological conditions (such as stroke, multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injuries). This book covers the assessment and management of the topic, supported with photographs, tables and diagrams. It gives special emphasis to explaining the pain mechanisms and recent developments in pain sciences, and also discusses the functions and dysfunctions of the tissues, and how the clues from those functions and dysfunction are used during assessment to decide management.
