Power is a twisted force, it corrupts even the most pure individuals. Certain people would do anything to have absolute control and loads of money, even kill a superior who has mentored him or her. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and starring Irrfan Khan, Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur, Maqbool is a crime drama film that is a modern day adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic play Macbeth. The plot follows the henchman of a powerful gangster who kills his boss with the help of his boss’s mistress to take over the nefarious organization and rule as a crime lord. However, some factions of the same organization pose a threat to him by making him a victim of betrayal as well; will he succumb?
