DC Books Golden Jubilee Novel Competition-2024 Special Prize Winner. The story of Mathias, a barber who lived in the period after the French Revolution and the Napoleonic wars. He steals corpses from cemeteries, dissects corpses and fastens wounds. Starring his revolutionary nephew Poppo and the Jewish son of the vineyard owner where Matthias first worked, Henreich, the novel is notable for its careful handling of language and strange wanderings into unfamiliar territory. This work is characterized by Bhumika, a conflict between reality and romanticism. The evil and oppression of power and the popular resistance against it form the historical and political background of the novel. What sets this work apart is an illusory journey of looking at the world beyond the physical condition of man. This is a novel that imaginatively presents unfamiliar places, backgrounds, human interactions, etc.
