  • Description

A spiritual seeker, who inspires others around him today, had once been inspired by certain people he came across in his life at different points of time. He has gathered various spiritual lessons from his Meetings with Remarkable Men.

    Summary of the Book

Gurdjieff, a philosopher from Russia, has learnt valuable lessons from remarkable men in his life. These were the men who made him the man that inspired others. His first tutor, Dean Borsh, taught him to throw away the strange questions that cross him while seeking wisdom. Bogachevsky, taught him about two kinds of morality: objective and subjective. His next tutor is Captain Pogossian, who joins a steamship business and becomes rich, without losing his spirituality. The next is Abram Yelov, a bookstore owner, who reached success by following his passion. Gurdjieff then encounters Yuri Lubovedski who spent the last years of his life in a remote monastery after a long time of trying to communicate with his wife who died at childbirth and having gained the realization that dead people can no longer be reached. The next is Ekim Bay, who gains knowledge to get rich. What Piotr Karpenko taught Gurdjieff is that life is too precious to waste it on fights and unwanted competitions. Professor Skridlov, a dedicated collector of artifacts, joins Gurdjieff on an expedition where he changes his life. These lessons have led him to inspire others around him in his Institute of Harmonious Development of Man.

    About G I Gurdjieff

Having traveled to various countries over the world, Gurdjieff has acquired a lot of knowledge that has made him the spiritual seeker that he is today. He has shared all that he has learnt through his travels in this book. To support himself, he has pursued various other odd jobs. His teaching was called “The Fourth Way”, which was not a philosophy or religion as such, but an inspiration on how one must live.
