Mobile Ad-Hoc Network consists of several numbers of nodes which have various responsibilities for MANET communication such as data transmission, data reception and router. During MANET communication, lots of energy gets consumed due to various responsibilities of mobile nodes. In MANET, mobile nodes keep moving from one location to another which causes more energy consumption. These nodes are powered by a battery source that possesses a limited capacity. This limited capacity is not capable to fulfil the demand of required energy for efficient communication. Energy consumption becomes a challenge for mobile- ad-hoc network communications in real time scenarios. Various approaches have been presented in the field of MANET communication to address the issue of energy consumption. State-of-art techniques derived solutions for energy consumption such as sleep mode, power controlling techniques and load balancing etc. but due to rapid growth of MANET in real time communication, energy consumption still remains a challenging task.
