It's a very good book and all of the topics discussed in it are very clearly explained but the book missed a few topics like sag and tension analysis and corona discharge analysis in transmission lines. Other than that this book works like a charm.......

This is a good starting book, especially for topics like power flow, short circuit, but not for stability which is not clearly explained. The appendices are great and very informative, a pleasant departure from other well known text books on power system analysis. The first chapter includes latest material on the energy picture in India, which gives a power system enthusiast a feel of what's happening in India.
