Description

MTG Reaction Mechanisms In Organic Chemistry is a collection of all the important reactions in organic chemistry, along with clear explanations.

Summary Of The Book

A reaction mechanism involves the sequence of steps by which an elementary reaction effects a chemical change. The understanding and study of such reaction mechanisms is of vital importance in understanding chemical processes.

MTG Reaction Mechanisms In Organic Chemistry collects a number of important organic chemical reactions for students preparing for exams. A single source that lists all the chemical reactions that they need to study can be a convenience for students who will be working in time constraints while preparing for exams.

The book begins with an introduction to the the fundamentals of organic chemistry. It discusses benzyne mechanism, carbocations, nitrenes and free radicals. After this, the book begins a detailed look at various reaction mechanisms.

The book goes into various reactions in organic chemistry along with the reaction process. The reaction mechanism for each is described in full detail. This helps the students clearly understand the reactions and apply the concepts to solve problems in exams.

The author has arranged the reactions in alphabetical order. The reactions listed include Alder-Ene Reaction, Birch Reduction, Dieckmann’s Cyclisation, Fries Rearrangement, Hydroboration, and Lossen rearrangement. At the end of each group of reactions, the book contains a set of exercises to provide problem solving practice to students.

MTG Reaction Mechanisms In Organic Chemistry also has a separate section that provides a list of organic reagents and catalysts, and describes their effects. This book is ideal for a clear understanding of reaction mechanisms in organic chemistry and helps students prepare for the JEE exam in chemistry.

Simply Awesome Chemistry Book

This is clearly the best organic Chemistry book for an in-depth knowledge at 'mechanisms' level required at 10+2 level and for all engineering entrances.I am myself a FIITJEE student and each and every reaction taught there has been included here. The explanations are clear, crisp and accurate and the General Organic Chemistry part is great too.Excellent exercises are proviided too.
Leave Arihant (R.K. Gupta) and Morrison- Boyd and Solomons-Fryhle. Instead of reading those heavy stifflers,go f...

Not a required book for competition

very knowledgeable book regarding organic mechanisms,,keeping in the mind the syllabus of entrance exams, this book is useless if you want to buy it for preparation of entrance exam as 80% of the book is not included in the syllabus,,and about 20% i am sure this book will be very helpful in clearing the concepts regarding mechanisms..

In short,,it is not a must have book,,but a good book to have who wants to study chemistry in depth.
