One has only to close one's eyes to relive those moments-childhood in Vallikunnu. The sound of rain drumming against the tiled roof of our ancestral home, the plantain leaves freshly bathed in the rain, all of us on the veranda with feet outstretched into the rain, the occasional fine spray of water on our faces as we peer out to have a glimpse of the sky, running into sheets of rain when grown-ups weren't looking. Like rainy days, some faces or a voice triggering a flood of memories, of loved ones, long gone. They tug at your heart and you wish you were a child again!
