Book review- My family and other animals
A must for all animal lovers. The author has done a splendid job in narrating it from the perspective of a young boy. The description is very crisp and realistic. The metaphoric usage makes the reading experience a lot of fun. I myself ended up learning so many new things about the plant and animal life. This is the first time I read this book. Wow... I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Definitely made me to look for his other works.... Even my 4 year old son asks me what Gerry did today.
This book is all about series of happening in Gerry's household, so i don't have to read it completely or in-sequence to my son. Just pick any chapter and enjoy it together.
A must read for young ones.

Entertaining,Informative and Witty
My Family and Other Animals is a must have in every collector's library. I have read this book several times and I look forward to reading it again. The author provides entertainment, knowledge and love for animals and plants. His wit and humor while dealing with his eccentric family will keep you smiling for a while.

Loved it!
I have read only a few books by Gerald Durrell but still i am an ardent fan of his work. I love his humour and the simplicity with which he explains his animal encounters. An amazing book. I have read it over and over again!

my idea of a perfect childhood.. filled with exploration and adventure, and superb descriptions on food.. :)
Filled with botanical and zoological information, this is a perfect start for such amateur enthusiasts, at the same time the small anecdotes by the author make the book very interesting and fun.
I recommend this book to anybody and everybody who loves a good read.. age:12 and above.
