Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7 May 1861. He was also known by his nickname Gurudev. Tagore was a world famous poet, novelist, and philosopher. Also, he was the first Indian to win a Nobel Prize in Literature. Two of his poetic songs became the National Anthem of two nations- India’s “Jana Gana Mana” and Bangladesh’s “Amar Sonar Bangla”. Gitanjali is one of his most profound poems. Tagore won a Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. He died on 7th August 1941. Tagore’s novel Naav Durghatna deals with the stories of such characters who have been swinging between love, loyalty-disloyalty, hatred and jealousy. They are tired and broken by dancing to the tunes of destiny. Yet, they never give up and are still fighting with the circumstances to emerge out as winners.
