  • Description
Einstein said that the most incomprehensible thing about the universe is that it is comprehensible. But was he right? Can the quantum theory of fields and Einstein's general theory of relativity, the two most accurate and successful theories in all of physics, be united into a single quantum theory of gravity? Can quantum and cosmos ever be combined? In The Nature of Space and Time, two of the world's most famous physicists--Stephen Hawking (A Brief History of Time) and Roger Penrose (The Road to Reality)--debate these questions. The authors outline how their positions have further diverged on a number of key issues, including the spatial geometry of the universe, inflationary versus cyclic theories of the cosmos, and the black-hole information-loss paradox. Though much progress has been made, Hawking and Penrose stress that physicists still have further to go in their quest for a quantum theory of gravity.

    TOO TECHNICAL

Only a math or a physics professor can understand the mathematics concepts used in this book . If you are looking for gathering knowledge in general cosmology and not interested in the intricate math concepts behind then please dont choose this book.

Good for readers who love mathematics ( not 1 1 = 2 kind of maths... I'm talking about advanced calculus differentiation stuffs like that ) ...

    Only for NERDS

I bought this to have more ideas and understanding of relativity but this books is a abstract of two scientist's debate who developed theory, so Whole language of book is in their words hence too technical, maths and other explanations are out of my understanding. Only NERDS of relativity who have read and got the whole theory throughout can read book completely.
Mother of god what a language not for any student or normal people. Only for psych :D

    not evryone's cup of tea

Not for people who don't understand nature of physics and mathematics. Go for this book only if you have very strong foundation of physics or have studied physics at least till graduation. The book requires in depth knowledge of subjects
