Shiva Trishul: The Trishul, or trident, is one of the primary symbols associated with Lord Shiva. It has three sharp prongs, each representing various trinities: creation, maintenance, and destruction; past, present, and future; body, mind, and spirit. The Trishul is symbolic of Shiva’s power to destroy evil and ignorance, leading to spiritual liberation.
Damru: Attached to the center of the Trishul is the Damru, a two-sided drum that holds profound spiritual significance. It represents the cosmic sound (Aum) that is believed to have initiated the creation of the universe. The rhythmic sound of the Damru is also associated with Shiva’s cosmic dance (Tandava), symbolizing the cyclical nature of life and time.
