must read for comprehensive understanding of java

A great book specially meant for java certification and also for comprehensive understanding of java.
I felt some topics in the book were little over stretched and the author spoke about same thing again and again but that repetition is worth it.
A subtle humour was maintained all through the book which made learning even dry topics more fun!!
over all it is a great book for java and can be used as a standard reference book by all java lovers..

Excellent book to understand and master Java

Excellent book for understanding Java. I am not a fan of Java but this book helped me to understand java and it's functionalities such that, I enjoy and feel confident in coding with Java. The way of writing this book with humor is also enjoyable.

Awesome book !!! Just go for it

I am currently reading this book for in depth understanding of JAVA. I hope you people already know about the authors. It's actually a different way of teaching. You'll definitely get a smile on your face while reading this one.
The book mainly focus on exam preparation but I think it will be useful for reference as it has "2 minute drills" which are important points and pretty much difficult exercises ( with Answers ) to test your understanding after every chapter.

Its not the book for learning Java.

The finest book to learn the nuances of Java.

This book is written in very impactful manner. If you know or have coded to a minimum level (if you know what is eclipse and how to run a java program) then this is a book for you to learn Java. The writing style is inclusive although there are some places where it gets difficult for a beginner to understand things in the first place but if you put some sincere effort with the help of internet then I am sure you would be able to grasp everything.
