One Day at Horrorland (English, Paperback, Stine R. L.)
In Goosebumps: One Day At Horrorland, a family on a holiday trip end up at a wrong theme park. And, the theme couldn’t be scarier as they end up in Horrorland.
Summary Of the Book
Goosebumps: One Day At Horrorland starts with the Morris family driving off towards a theme park called the Zoo Gardens Theme Park.
Lizzy Morris’ parents are taking her, her brother Luke, and Luke’s friend Clay, to visit the Zoo Gardens Theme Park. In the middle of the desert, they get lost, and can’t find their way back. They then spot a sign that points the way to another amusement park called HorrorLand.
They reach HorrorLand, and the children are excited about visiting a scary theme park. When they all get out of the car near the entrance to the park, the car blows up into tiny pieces. The shocked visitors are taken inside by the park workers, who all wear monster costumes.
The park workers offer to let the family visit the park free of charge, to compensate for what just happened. While the kids explore the various rides in the park, the parents go in search of a telephone, to make arrangements for going back.
The rides offered sound thrilling with names such as Werewolf Village, The Coffin Cruise, and The Doom Slide. They decide try them one by one. They get on the Doom Slide first, and find that it lives up to its name.
They then find that The Coffin Cruise involves being locked up in real coffins as they cruise down a river. As the rides get more scary, the children soon realize that the horrors in Horrorland are all too real.
Just when they manage to get out of terrifying rides and set out to find their parents, things go from bad to worse.
Goosebumps: One Day At Horrorland laid the foundation for the spinoff series, Goosebumps Horrorland.
