Summary of the Book
Separated due to Bartholomew Kuma’s actions, the Straw Hats struggle to get back together. Luffy finds himself on the island of the Kuja pirate clan, the home of the Pirate Empress Boa Hancock, Queen of the Amazons. He is quickly caught by the warrior women of the clan and is soon put in a gladiatorial bout. However, in his attempt to save his newfound friends, Luffy unleashes his hidden Haki, the King’s Disposition Haki, astonishing the Kujas. But even with his powers, does he stand a chance against Boa Hancock and her sisters?
About Eiichiro Oda
Eiichiro Oda is a Japanese Mangaka best known as the creator of the One Piece manga series. Besides this series, Oda has also worked on Wanted!, God's Present for the Future, Monsters, Romance Dawn and Taste of the Devil Fruit.
One Piece has since been adapted into an award-winning anime series, several direct-to-video movies, and one animated movie which was released in theatres across Japan and the United States. Eiichiro Oda is a self-professed fan of the works of Akira Toriyama and considers Dragon Ball one of the inspirations for his series. He has worked with Toriyama-sensei on Cross Epoch, a crossover manga series involving One Piece and Dragon Ball Z characters.
