The Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination is conducted twice in the month of February and September by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruiting officers into various Technical and Non-Technical grades of the forces. This book has been designed for the CDS examination conducted by UPSC. The present book for CDS Examinations has been divided into five sections namely Mathematics, General English,General Science, Current Affairs and General Studies, each sub-divided into number of chapters as per the syllabi of the entrance examination. The Mathematics section has been divided into 28 chapters namely Number System, Time & Distance, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Logarithm, Rational Expressions, Linear Equations, Set Theory, Height & Distance, Triangles, Circle, Locus, Statistics, etc whereas the English section has been divided into nine chapters namely Spotting the Errors, Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms & Phrases, Comprehension, Fill in the Blanks & Close Test, Sentence Improvement and Ordering of Words/ Sentences. The General Science section has been divided into Physics, Chemistry and Biology whereas the General Studies section covers History, Geography, Indian Polity, Economy and General Knowledge, each sub-divided into number of chapters. Ample number of solved problems have been provided in each and every chapter to help aspirants get an insight into the types of questions asked in the CDS examinations. Also unsolved practice exercises have been provided at the end of each paragraph to help aspirants practice the concepts covered in each chapter. The book also contains CDS Solved Paper II to help aspirants get an insight into the recent examination pattern and the types of questions asked therein. As the book contains ample number of solved as well as practice problems, it for sure will help aspirants score high in the upcoming CDS Entrance Examination.
