Excellent book
I am a novice in PHP and mySQL areas.I loved reading this book. Interseting stuff in this book is projects section. this section has excellent projects like shopping basket creation, mailing list creation etc., with detailed code explanations. Also the book comes with a CD, which includes mysql, PHP software and all code snippets presented in the book...

I have gone through book. If you want to have strong base on PHP then this is the right book. It presents concepts very lucidly.
If you are a beginner then read it cover to cover. It will give you very strong grounding on php.If you are an intermediate programmer ,you can keep it as a reference.

Great product
Good book for those who has basic knowledge of html and at least one Programming Language. This book teaches too fast and in a easy way and describe everything. If you don't have knowledge of any programming language don't worry just study this book slowly but it is must that you should know at least basic of HTML. I have Problem with downloading softwares so I downloaded XAMPP which has all in one PHP, APCHE and MySQL.
