O.P. Gauba's book is good for Basics. though i felt that the "Basic's are over-stretched in the books.
For people preparing for U.P.S.C. with Pol.sci as Optional, studying this book and parallel effort on preparing answers on previous years questions from political theory questions can prove to be challenging and worthy.
