Summary Of The Book

The Princess Diaries: Ten Out of Ten is the tenth book in The Princess Diaries series. These books record the experiences and musings of young Mia Thermopolis. Her parents are divorced and she lives with her mother in New York City.

She attends the Albert Einstein High School. Her best friend is Lilly Moscovitz. Mia is in love with Lilly’s older brother Michael. She has been in love with him ever since she first saw him, when she was in first grade and he in fourth. Michael and Mia eventually discover that they love each other but things end badly when Mia learns of his former relationship with another girl. Michael then has to leave for Japan, where he will be developing a prototype for a robotic arm that could help doctors in performing heart surgery.

Meanwhile, a misunderstanding results in breaking her long friendship with Lily. Mia is now dating another boy, JP. In this book, The Princess Diaries: Ten Out of Ten, Mia is set to celebrate her eighteenth birthday. But, she is confused about her feelings for JP, and the situation is complicated by the return of Michael. He is now a young millionaire, following the success of his CardioArm. Besides, Mia has other issues to sort out.

She wants to win back Lily's friendship. She has written a romance novel, but is hesitant about sharing this information with her friends. She begins to doubt JP’s sincerity and feels that he is using her. She is drawn towards Michael again. She has also been accepted by the colleges that she applied to, but is unsure whether she was accepted on merit or because of her royal lineage. While Mia is trying to deal with all this, her father is standing for the elections. Mia throws herself wholeheartedly into helping him win the elections. She also has to prepare for the huge party her grandmother is planning for her eighteenth birthday, and the graduation party and prom. Thus, in The Princess Diaries: Ten Out of Ten Mia is finding that she has a lot of things to cope with in a short period of time.

Meggin Patricia Cabot is an American author of young adult novels. Her work includes the Mediator series and the 1-800-WHERE-R-U series. Her other books include Moving Day, How to Be Popular, The Boy Next Door, An Improper Proposal, Victoria and the Rogue, and Avalon High: Coronation.

Meg Cabot was born in Indiana in 1967. She studied at Indiana University and after graduation, she worked for sometime as an illustrator. She also worked at New York University as an assistant manager of a dormitory. She is married to financier Benjamin D. Egnatz. Meg Cabot is a prolific writer and she written over 50 books so far. Her books have received numerous awards including the American Library Association Quick Pick For Reluctant Readers and The Book Sense Pick. Her Princess Diaries books have been adapted into two movies by Walt Disney.
