Priya-Pravaas 'Priya-Pravas' is the first epic of Hindi - Khadee Boli, which is the immortal work of the great poet Ayodhya Singh Upadhyay 'Hari-Audh'. In the form of a very melodious verse, it depicts the separation of the Sri Krishna, the divine soul of the times, when the former went away from Gokul to Mathura; and the resultant anguish of the people of Gokul, who got extremely distressed in its wake. It is, in a way, the agony of every living being that one experiences when one passes or goes away, which is an indispensable feature of the living creation. Attachment, delusion and possessiveness are the roots of all sorts of suffering; knowledge, on the other hand, is the means of redemption from it! This seems to be the essence or central theme of this epic. ‘Priya-Pravas' is but a poetical depiction of the misery or pain of separation, natural love and the message of universal welbeing. 'Videh' Arvind Kumar has recompiled and reprinted this wonderful literary work; and has also presented a brief summary of its story for creating interest in new generation.
