Very good book
Really great book to learn the concepts of xhtml and javascript. This book is not recommentded if you are looking for server side scripting languages. Although the book does cover php, rails, perl etc. the information is not extensive. If you are a beginner looking for a book to learn everything from scratch, this book is right for you.
1)The language used is very simple and easy to understand.

Absolutely recommended for beginners.
This book is the most suggested book for Web Technologies by all institutes. Every chapter of the book only covers basics. HTML, CSS and JS chapters of the book are bit more elaborated compared to other chapters. Contains very less practical information rather concentrates on basics more. Can be used for quick reference before exams but it is definitely not recommended for real world implementations of the concepts as it doesn't contain any such content.
